This post is all about goal setting for new year.
Have you always wanted to accomplish more but didn't know where to start? Or would start something new but stop because you didn't have anything motivating you to keep moving forward?
This is where goal setting comes in. It gives you actionable steps to take to keep you motivated and productive! In this blog post, we are going to talk all about how goal setting for the new year to stay productive!
GOAL SETTING FOR NEW YEAR
What Are Goals
Goals are outcomes that you want to achieve by completing specific steps to get to said outcome. Goals provide direction, actionable steps, motivation, and a sense of purpose. You can have goals that are personal, professional, financial, academic, or health-related. Goals keep you focused on the end result, keeping your time management and productivity at an all-time high.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals
Goals need to be smart: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. When creating goals, you need to be as specific as possible regarding what you want to achieve. For example, 100 blog posts is not specific. Try to answer the W questions: when, where, who, and why do you want 100 blog posts?
The goal needs to be measurable. How will you track the goal? Being able to see what you have accomplished helps keep you motivated to keep moving toward the end goal.
Being realistic with our goals keeps them achievable. If your blog is brand new with zero traffic, setting a goal of 50K monthly page views doesn't seem very achievable.
When setting your goals, they should matter to you and align with your long-term plan and values! For example, creating 100 new blog posts in 2025 can be relevant to your long-term plan of gaining readers.
You need to add a time frame of when you will accomplish the goal. This sets that sense of urgency driving the actions and motivation to work towards it.
How To Set Goals
First, you need to ask yourself what it is you want to achieve for the new year with your blog. Do you want more page views, followers, sponsorships, or to make more money from affiliate marketing?
Then, you need to write them down using the S.M.A.R.T method and list out what steps need to be taken to achieve the goal.
Last, and most importantly, you have to take action towards the goals you just set, or it's just a dream, not a goal.

Steps To Success
I like to work backward from my goals. Look at one of your annual blogging goals. Ask yourself, what can I do each month to work towards that goal? Now break monthly action down into weekly and daily actionable steps. Add these to your to-do-list and content calendar!
Reflect
It is important to reflect not just at the end of the year but daily, weekly, and monthly. Track your progress. Did you work towards your goal every single week? If so, how did you do? What does your data analytics look like from month to month? If not, why and how can I do better next week? Reflect, rinse, repeat.
